Gordon R. Pounds, 62

Services for Gordon R. Pounds, who died June 9, 1996 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 12 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Gordon R. Pounds was born February 17, 1934 in Council Bluffs to Delmar and Laura Davis Pounds. He graduated from South High School in 1952.

He had been an electrician through the IBEW Local 22 since 1953. He owned the Blair Maple from 1984 to 1993.

He served in the United States Marine Corps from June, 1954 to June, 1957.

He helped organize the Blair Little League and served as umpire in chief for several years, was involved in the Blair Softball Association and was a basketball referee.

He was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus and St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church.

He married Judy Hards December 31, 1963 at Lake Manawa, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; a son, Troy of Overland Park, Kansas; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Kenny Petersen of Omaha; two grandchildren, Cogan Petersen and Cassie Petersen; his mother, Laura Seastedt of Omaha and two brothers, Don Seastedt and Dick Seastedt, both of Omaha.

Memorials may be directed to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Assoc., 21021 Venture Blvd., Suite 321, Woodland Hills, California 91354.
