MRS. AIMEE PRATT IS DEAD

Had Almost Reached The Century Mark

New reached this city in rather an indefinite manner, that Mrs. Aimee Pratt, mother of the late Mrs. Kenny, had passed away during the early part of the week. Blair people will remember the lady, who lived for many years at the Kenny home and who was so tenderly cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Aimee Kenny, until that lady’s death last spring. None of the other children, of which there are several, found it convenient to take care of their mother, who had travelled the thorny path of life for almost one hundred years, and so the frail, helpless, little old lady was consigned to the Masonic Home, at Plattsmouth, at which public institution her days were ended.

Mrs. Pratt was born in 1827, and would have been 97 years old on Christmas Day. She was twice married, her first husband was Rev. Mr. Taggert, who died many years ago. The remains of this aged lady was taken to Palmyra, Neb., and interred by the side of her first husband, the father of Mrs. Kenny.

MRS. PRATT PASSES AWAY

The death of Mrs. Aimee M. Pratt, mother of the late Mrs. Aimee J. Kinney, occurred at Plattsmouth, Neb., on November 10th. Had she lived until Christmas day of this year she would have celebrated her 97th birthday. Her life was a long and woeful one, spent mostly in this state to which she came in the year of 1856, as the wife of a pioneer Baptist missionary, Rev. J. M. Taggart, whose name is still a precious memory to loving friends all through this part of the west in which he lived.

The burial of Mrs. Pratt took place at Palmyra, Neb., a little city founded by Rev. Taggart, and in which they spent many years of their ministry. She was a woman of remarkable intellect and character, honored and loved by all. She is survived by one son, Robert Taggart, of Nebraska City, and three daughters: Miss Mary Taggart, Florrisant, Colo.; Mrs. Jeanette White, Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Anna Clark, Los Angeles, California.
