Services Are Held For Former Kennard Woman

Funeral services were held for Angeline Preston, 85, Wayne, on Tuesday, May 6, at the United Methodist Church in Wayne. Rev. Kenneth Edmonds officiated with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Angeline Preston was born April 30, 1895, at Kennard, the daughter of Dervie and Sarah Jane Hall, and died Sunday, May 4, 1980, at Providence Medical Center. Her parents owned Hall’s Greenhouse and Grocery Store at one time.

She moved with her parents to Wayne in 1921, where she worked in the family’s floral business. On December 27, 1923, she married Clarence Preston at Wayne. They farmed southwest of Laurel until 1943, then west of Wayne until retiring and moving into town in 1948.

She belonged to the Methodist Church, Acme Club, the hospital auxiliary and was a 1952 Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Jason of Wayne; and one daughter, Mrs. Bennett (Beatrice) Young of Omaha. Nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one sister Elsie Micha of Morengo Valley, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.
