SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR MRS. GEO. CHRISTENSEN

Funeral services were held today (Monday) for Mrs. George Christensen, 83 years of age who died Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Chapman, at 1329 Prospect.

The services were held at the Baptist Church, the Rev. Reiland officiating, with interment in Prairie View Cemetery near Washington.

Mrs. Christensen is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Fred Nelson (Mabel) of Omaha, Mrs. John Gregerson (Hazel) of Herman and Mrs. Jack Chapman (Ruby) of Blair. Four sons, Henry of Masters, Colo., William of Blair, Howard of Bennington, and Oliver of Washington, Pa.; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Trimble of Omaha; two brothers, Ernest Pate of Loveland, Colo., and George Pate of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Mrs. Christensen, the former Annie Mary Pate, was born March 10, 1880 at the William Burgess place near Garfield, Kentucky in Breckenridge County. As a girl she was baptized in the Baptist faith. She came to Nebraska as a child with her parents, settling in the Colby district in Washington County. She attended the Colby School and was there the day of the Great Blizzard of 1888. The family later returned to Kentucky.

She returned to Nebraska the second time as a young lady. In the year of 1901 she married George M. Christensen of Washington. Mr. Christensen died Dec. 19, 1959. Three children who died in infancy, also preceded her in death.
