SERVICES SET FOR "MAMA MARIE" CHRISTENSEN

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 27, at First Lutheran Church in Blair for Birgithe Marie “Mama Marie” Christensen, who died October 25, 1983, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

The Rev. Carl Schattauer, Jr., will officiate. Burial will be in Blair Cemetery.

Birgithe Marie Christensen was born in Gjern, Denmark, April 18, 1894, to Jens and Elisabeth Pedersen Kudsk. She came to the United States in 1911 and made her home in St. Paul, Nebraska.

She married Karl Christensen in 1914 at St. Paul. They made their home in Bennington, Nebraska, until 1919 at which time they moved to Blair.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She was also a 50 year member of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl, on March 2, 1962; two sons, Karl, Jr., and Robert; and one grandchild, Barbara.

She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Servine, Blair; and one son, Roy, of Wayne. Six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Anena Silkjaer Madsen, Denmark; and two brothers, Peder Kudsk, Montana, and Lars Kudsk, Washington.

Pallbearers will be Christian Wiseman, David Ley, Dr. James Doyle, Robert P. Christensen II, George Christensen and Duane Jensen.

Clare Cowing will be organist. Homer Nielsen will be vocalist.

Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
