VERNELL E. DEVNEY, 62

Vernell E. Devney, 62, of Herman, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at Herman.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Interment will be in the Herman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Vernell E. Devney was born Feb. 5, 1941, in Tekamah. On Sept. 10, 1957, she married Ralph Devney in Omaha.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; son and daughter-in-law, R. Wesley and Ann Devney of Fort Calhoun; daughters and sons-in-law, Rennie and Kurty Grossoehme of Omaha; Jerrian and Dale Hawkins of Ralston; Janette Hawkins of Omaha; mother and stepfather, Ethel and Si Kosmicki of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence “Sonny” and Nondie Knudsen of Omaha; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ron Hoffman of Herman; nine grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, an aunt and an uncle.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
