Roy J. Rahlfs was born on Sept. 9, 1906 at rural Arlington, Nebraska, to Herman and Anna (Kuhr) Rahlfs. He attended the Lincoln School. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Orum. On November 18, 1933, he was united in marriage to Ella Jensen at Kennard, Nebraska. He farmed in the Orum area his entire life, retiring in 1986. Roy was a member of First Lutheran Church in Blair. He had served on the Orum School Board and Orum Lutheran Church.
Surviving him in death are his wife, Ella; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Jim Leehy; son, Kenneth Rahlfs; sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Mary Jean Rahlfs, John and Jody Rahlfs, all of Blair, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Margaret Christensen, Blair, Nebraska, and Evalena (Mrs. Charles Love), Sacramento, California.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Laverne Rahlfs.
Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.
