Funeral Services For Mrs. Meyer Held Monday

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair for Mrs. Judy Lang Meyer who had been killed in a traffic accident at Norfolk, Nebraska, Friday afternoon, August 30th. She was 21 years old.

Mrs. Meyer was a bride of only one week. She and her husband, Gary Meyer were returning from a honeymoon trip to Yellowstone Park when their car was struck by a rock truck at an intersection on the outskirts of Norfolk.

Mrs. Meyer was the former Judy Lang, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Lang of Herman. She is survived by her parents, a brother and a sister. The brother is Terry Lang, a student at Lincoln and a sister, Linda, who is a Senior in Herman High School.

Services at the Trinity Lutheran Church were conducted by the Rev. Ernest Eckhardt, of Fremont. Burial was made in the Herman Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were Gary Husk, Dennis Krohn, Larry Hansen, Donald Durand, Steven Cameron and Mike Brodersen.

Herman Newlywed Killed Returning From Honeymoon

Tragedy struck down a newlywed, from Herman, Nebraska, less than one week after her marriage, Mrs. Gary Meyers, age 21, was killed Friday afternoon at Norfolk, Nebraska.

Mrs. Meyers if the former Judy Lang, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lang of Herman. Judy was married to Gary Meyers, of Fairbury, Nebraska, on Saturday,August 24th. The couple was returning from their honeymoon trip to Yellowstone Park when the traffic accident took place.

The Meyers auto was reportedly in a collision with a rock truck at an intersection near the Holiday Inn in Norfolk. Mrs. Meyer died in surgery at a Norfolk Hospital Friday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Meyers were both students at the University of Nebraska and planned to return to school this fall.

Survivors, beside her parents and husband, are a brother Terry, also a student at the University of Nebr., and a sister Linda, who will be a senior at Herman this fall.

Funeral arrangements were pending as this paper went to press. Campbell Mortuary, of Blair, is in charge of arrangements.
