Otto F. Meyer, 84

Otto F. Meyer, 84, of Blair, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, in the chapel at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Blair. Visitation began Monday, and will also be held at the chapel one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Otto F. Meyer was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Scribner to George Henry Hermann and Anna (Marx) Meyer.

On Feb. 14, 1940, he married Bernice Jensen at Craig. The couple made their home on a farm south of Craig. Mr. Meyer was a heavy equipment operator for the Fort Calhoun Stone Company. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Dean Schmidt of Arlington; Karen Nuding of Fremont; Vileen and John Smid of Memphis, Tenn.; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Connie Meyer of Arlington, and Randy and Terri Meyer of Fremont; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Leona Meyer of Sacramento, Calif., and Edna Schaeffer of Deer Lodge, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; two brothers, Robert and Richard; and six sisters, Ella, Alma, Martha, Pauline, Ruth and Margaret.

Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice, or Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah is in charge of arrangements.
