Dean A. Price, 77
Former Blair resident Dean A. Price, 77, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at his home in Omaha.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Monday, Feb. 18, at St Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Dean Arthur Price was born May 21, 1930, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Ernest and Thelma (Smith) Price. They lived on a farm near Honey Creek, Iowa. He attended a one-room school-house for eight years, and then went on to graduate from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1947. His parents moved to a farm near DeSoto Bend in 1945.
In 1951, he married Mary Ann Loftis. The couple had five sons.
Mr. Price worked at various jobs during his lifetime. They included work at a packing house, delivering furniture and hanging drapes, making and installing aluminum windows and doors, managing a paint store and painting, and finally, he worked as a security guard at Mutual of Omaha.
In 1982, he married Ruth (Schroll) Bennett. She had five children; the youngest, Jerry, a boy of 10, was adopted by her new husband.
In 1992, when Mr. Price retired from Mutual, the couple moved to Grand Island. In 2002, they moved to a condo in Blair and they moved into Omaha in 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Lori, Gregory, Ronald, Gary and Lisa, and Gerald and Mary Price, all of Omaha; stepchildren and spouses, David and Pattie Bennett of Indian Land, S.C., Jane and Chuck Ploughman of Omaha, Robert and Theresa Bennett of Charlotte, N.C., Timothy and Anna Bennett of Malvern, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Joan Price of Craig.
He was preceded in death by his son, Randall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair or St. Charles in Omaha.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

SERVICES 10 am Monday St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair, NE. Burial of cremains at Holy Cross Cemetery. VISITATION from 6-8 pm Sunday at funeral home with a Wake service at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church or St. Charles Catholic in Omaha.
