Prochnow, Fred “Henry”

Mr. Proctnor, a German residing about a mile and a half northwest of town died in Omaha at the hospital, where he has been doctoring for rheumatism. He leaves a wife and several small children to mourn his loss, beside many friends.

Pilot 28 May 1896

Elder Prochnow was to-day buried in the Fort Calhoun cemetery. The Elder has suffered for years from service in the German army, and was recently in Omaha for treatment. For several years he has lived on the John Rathmann farm. The old gentleman very often passed us on the road and always with a nod, a smile and a cheerful good-day that was like a benediction, and we shall miss his familiar greeting.

Note: Since the actual death date was not given, the news article date was used. Also the name is spelled as Prochnow on the Ft. Calhoun cemetery listing.
