Charles Short

Services for Charles Wesley Short, 82, of Fort Calhoun, who died August 29, 1985, were Saturday, August 31, at the Campbell Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Dodson officiated and burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Short was born July 2, 1903, in West Plains, Missouri, the son of James and Lena Short. He married Lula Keen on March 5, 1930.

The couple farmed north of McCook until 1935 and then moved to Commerce City, Colorado, and farmed there for 43 years. They moved to Fort Calhoun in 1983.

Short is survived by his wife, Lula, and son Wesley, both of Fort Calhoun; one sister, Minnie Horton of Henderson, Colorado; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
