Edgar Short, 90, of Blair, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at the Blair Cemetery.

Edgar Short was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Blair, to Erasmus and Ada (Evans) Short. He lived his entire life in the Washington County area.

On Oct. 27, 1935, he married Lillian Bena of Ponca Hills. The couple farmed for several years in the Washington County area and settled in Blair in 1952 so their children could attend Blair High School. Upon moving to Blair, Mr. Short worked in the construction industry for 22 years and retired in 1977 to pursue his favorite pastimes of fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Karen Short of Mormon Lake, Ariz., Ken and Pauline Short of Harrisville, Mich., Ron and Patti Short of Blair; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, in 2004; daughter, Beverly; and brothers and sisters.

Memorials are suggested to Memorial Community Hospital, the Burt-Washington County Home Health, or the donor’s choice.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
