Lillian M. Short, 88

Lillian M. Short, 88, of Blair, died June 16 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 19 at 10 a.m. at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 18.

Lillian was born on April 25, 1916 in Florence to William and Agnes (Korinek) Bena. She attended Ponca Hills Grade School and Omaha North High School.

On October 26, 1935, she was united in marriage to Edgar Short in West Point. They farmed several years in the Herman area and then moved to their present home in 1952.

Lillian was a homemaker all of her life and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

She was involved with many volunteer organizations over the years, including the American Diabetes Association, Hospital Auxiliary, and Washington County Recycling Association. She was a member of the Blair Eagles Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband Edgar, three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Karen Short, of Norman Lake, Ariz., Ken and Pauline Short of Harrisville, Mich., Ron and Patti Short of Blair, seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Helen Weber of Florence and Evelyn Rischling of Milligan. She was preceded in death by a daughter Beverly, five sisters and five brothers. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or Blair Food Pantry.
