ELEANOR E. DAEHNKE, 83

Eleanor E. Daehnke, 83, of Fremont, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at the Pathfinder House in Fremont.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Interment was in Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

Eleanor E. Wolter was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Arlington to the Rev. George and Caroline (Gakemeier) Wolter. She was baptized on Aug. 31, 1924, and confirmed on May 15, 1938, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, by her father. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from Arlington High School in 1942.

She began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. and retired from that company after 26 years on Aug. 19, 1975.

On June 23, 1946, she married Paul D. Daehnke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Her father officiated the ceremony.

Mrs. Daehnke is survived by her son, James Daehnke of Lincoln; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and Gary Borgmeyer of Fremont and Barbara and Chad Hansen of Omaha; a twin brother and his wife, Gerald and Darlene Wolter of Madison, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 2002; six half-brothers and one half-sister.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or “The Lutheran Hour.”

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
