BLAIR WOMAN DIED FOLLOWING CAR CRASH AT US 36 INTERSECTION

A 23 year old lady, Mrs. Gayle L. Dale, died at about 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday as a result of injuries she suffered in a one car accident earlier that same morning. Mrs. Dale lived with her husband Dennis, and daughter Dana, in a mobile home on Route 2 south of Blair. The Dales have an acreage half mile east of the Rose Ann Mobile Home Park and then one half mile south.

Services for Mrs. Dale have been set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Roeder Mortuary in Omaha with interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Dale and her seven year old daughter Dana started home after visiting friends in Omaha. The car appeared to hit the guard rail near the intersection of Highways 133 and 36. The car rolled over into a deep ditch but stopped upright on its wheels.

Dana started for help at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday. A motorist stopped and offered to take her with him to get help. Dana refused and the motorist went on into Irvington and summoned a Rescue Squad. Mrs. Dale was still in the auto and was taken to an Omaha hospital where she later passed away. Dana suffered a fractured collar bone, cuts and bruises and was later released.

Dana reported to investigating officers that she heard her mother say, “Watch out for that car” just before the car crashed.

Mrs. Dale’s husband, Dennis, is an Omaha Public Power District employee. J. W. Dale of Omaha, Dana’s grandfather, said the family doesn’t know what caused the accident.

Persons surviving Mrs. Dale besides her husband and daughter, include the following: 2 brothers, John and Patrick Iverson; 1 sister, Polly Iverson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Iverson; mother and father-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. John W. Dale. All are of Omaha.
