NANCY ANDERSON DIED SEPTEMBER 2 AT TEKAMAH HOME

Mrs. Nancy Anderson, widow of the late Cy Anderson, died Wednesday, September 2nd at the Senior Citizens’ Home at Tekamah. She had been a resident there but a few days.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Harrison County, Iowa, September 30, 1898, and lacked but a few days of being 72 years old. She came to Blair as a young woman and has been a resident since that time.

For a number of years, she and her husband, Cy Anderson, ran the neighborhood market on East Nebraska Street, known as “Cy and Nancy’s Market.” It was closed several years ago due to advancing age and poor health of both Mr. and Mrs. Anderson. Mr. Anderson died less than a year ago.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Ethel Simpson of Blair; Mrs. Jayne Worley of Brighton, Colo., and Ruby Fulton of Bethany, Mo. There are 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home last Saturday, September 5th with services conducted by the Rev. Ray Phelps, supply pastor of the First Christian Church. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were J.B. Jensen, Ed Hovendick, Earl Hardy, Calvin Metzler, Alfred C. Anderson and Henry Plugge.
