EDWIN DAM, 84

Services were Wednesday, November 6 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper for Edwin Dam, 84 of Hooper who died November 4, 1991 at the Hooper Care Center.

Edwin W. Dam was born October 28, 1907 in the Washington County community of Admah on the family farm. He lived there his entire life until moving to Hooper in 1986. He was a long time Washington County farmer and livestock feeder.

He was honored in 1976 as a 50-year shipper by the Omaha Stock Yards and was a charter member of the Washington County Cattle Feeders Association. He had served on the Winslow Farmers Union CO-OP board.

He helped organize the west Admah Cemetery Board and was its president for 40 years. He was a Hewitt School Board member and a 4-H livestock leader. He was also a member of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge No. 206 in Blair.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper and served on the church council. He was a charter member and current president of the Redeemer LCM.

He married Lucinda Busch in Hooper at Zion Lutheran Church September 26, 1937.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Marie Dam Dam, two infant sons, three sisters and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Lucinda; his son and daughter-in-law, James and Alice, Hooper; grandchildren, Dwight Dam of Hooper; Virginia of Lincoln; David of West Point and Eric in Hooper and a great-grandson, Derek.

A memorial will be established.

Ludvigson Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
