Jack B. Mickel, 78

Services for Jack B. Mickel, 78 of Fremont were Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Wirkes of Fremont Alliance Church officiated. The United States flag was presented following the memorial service. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery at Fremont.

Jack B. Mickel was born August 25, 1914 at Woodbine, Iowa. He moved from Woodbine to Omaha in 1930. In 1965 he moved to Fremont.

He served in the United States Army during World War II from March 15, 1944 to December 13.

He had worked for Peter Kiewit and Sons and other major construction contractors in Omaha. In Fremont, he worked for Robert Haas Plumbing. He managed the Ranch Motel after retiring from plumbing.

He was a member of Community Christian Church in Fremont; Plumbers Local No. 16 in Omaha.

He married Lenora James Brown April 4, 1969 at Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Flora Butler Mickel, a daughter, Joyce Taylor and three sons, Gerald J., John C. and James I.

He is survived by his wife, Lenora; a son, Jack, Jr. of Tucson, Arizona; daughters, Jacqueline (Mrs. David) Moore of Fremont, Jeanette (Mrs. Darrell King of Blair, Nancy (Mrs. David) Bibbie of Newberg, Oregon; and Sally (Mrs. Rick) Graham of Potomac, Illinois; a stepson, Gary Brown of Norfolk; step-daughters, Sondra Mayer of Uehling, Debbie Cattiett and Barb Rusinko, both of Fremont; 20 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Moser Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
