Nels E. Anderson, a former Kennard resident, died Saturday at Thermopolis, Wyoming. He was 61 years old. He had been born and raised in the Kennard area and had a number of relatives and many acquaintances in the county.

He was born at Kennard, December 30, 1905, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Anderson, long-time Kennard residents. His mother was the former Bertha Japp.

He enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years in the service. About twenty years ago he moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he lived for a time and later moved to Thermopolis which was his home at the time of his death.

He was married to Anne Rohwer of the Ft. Calhoun area. The couple had no children.

He is survived by his wife and by his mother, Mrs. Sherman Anderson of Kennard. Two brothers John and Roscoe Anderson both live at Kennard. A sister, Mrs. Elmer Helsley (Elvina) lives at Buhl, Idaho and a sister Mrs. Loren Kemp (Leola) lives at Gillette, Wyoming. There are a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Kennard Tuesday at the Emmaus Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harold Jorgensen of Blair, conducting the service. Burial was made in the Kennard Cemetery with graveside services by the John S. Bowen Masonic Lodge of Kennard.

Pallbearers were George Japp, Fritz Japp, Howard Miller, Lester Sorensen, Ole Sorensen, and Nels Anderson. The Campbell Mortuary was in charge.
