Services Held Wednesday For Jack Miers

Funeral services were held February 24, 1982, for Jack G. Miers, age 25. Jack had been at St. Joseph’s Hospital for three weeks after sustaining severe injuries from an auger accident.

Rev. Darnold of the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church conducted the Prayer service at Siever-Sprick Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 23, 1982. Funeral services were held at the Omaha Gospel Tabernacle by Pastor Tom Stebbins.

A Masonic graveside service was conducted at Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Springborg, Sean Slechta, Joe Foral, Jim Walker, Kirk Stocker and Mike Siedschlag. Music was provided by Mike and Terri Loewens.

Jack G. Miers was born on March 26, 1956, at Seward, Nebraska, to Jack G. and Eileen Miers. He graduated from Fort Calhoun High School in May, 1974, and from Milford Southeast Community College in March, 1976.

He was Master Counselor of the Order of Demolay in Blair, Nebraska, in high school and Senior Warden of Solomon Lodge No. 10 Masonic Lodge in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska.

He married Aline Miers on May 1, 1976, at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. He was employed by Geotechnical Services, Inc., a civil engineering firm in Omaha. He is survived by his wife, Aline, his children, Daniel and Dana; his mother, Eileen; his sister, Pam; foster parents, Richard and Lona Burmeister; and foster brother and sister, Rick and Renee.
