ILLNESS FATAL TO BOY, AGED 9

RAY AUSTIN DANIELS, NORTH SCHOOL PUPIL, DIES IN HOSPITAL

The crayons which Ray Austin Daniels, 9, North school pupil, received two weeks ago for his birthday, will never be used.

Ray, who was promoted to the third grade recently, had planned to save his birthday gift for use when school opens in September, but death came to him in an Omaha hospital early yesterday after a short illness.

He had been ill a week, suffering from a ruptured appendix, and peritonitis set in.

Ray Austin Daniels was born in this city June 12, 1928, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Daniels. His twin brother died seven months later. Surviving Ray are his parents; a brother, Charles, 16; and four sisters, Luella, 14, Edna, 13, Anna, 11, and Eloise, 6.

The body is at Campbell’s mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Daniels home, 401 East State street. Burial will be in Blair cemetery.

RAY AUSTIN DANIELS DIES

Ray Austin Daniels, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Daniels of this city, passed away at the Immanuel hospital Wednesday morning. He was taken ill last week and on Thursday was taken to the Immanuel hospital suffering from appendicitis.

On examination, it was found that it was too late to operate as peritonitis had already set in, and death came Wednesday morning.

Ray was born June 12, 1928. His twin died at the age of seven months. Besides the parents, one brother and four sisters besides other relatives are left to mourn his death.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o’clock from the home, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
