Walter Lorsch Died At Hospital Sunday, June 10

Walter Lorsch, an engine operator at the Blair Municipal Power Plant, died at Memorial Community Hospital Sunday, June 10th. He had been in failing health for a number of months.

Walter John Lorsch had been a lifetime resident of Washington County. He was born at Ft. Calhoun April 30, 1912, and was 61 year of age at his death. He attended school and grew to manhood in the Ft. Calhoun and Blair areas.

On January 22, 1936 he was married to Birdie Helen Loftis, also a native of the Blair area. To this union three daughters were born.

He has been associated with the Blair Electric plant for the past 13 years.

Surviving is his wife, Birdie and daughters Mrs. Franklin (Darlene) Young, Mrs. Richard (Janet) Sederburg and Mrs. Layton (Betty) Anderson. There are four grandchildren , Cindy and Jeff Young, Jo Ann and Ricky Sederburg, all of Blair. Two sisters who survive are Mrs. George (Ella) Charron, of Omaha, Mrs. Asmus (Esther) Wiese of Blair. There are also many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, June 12, at the First Baptist Church in Blair. The Rev. James Metzgar conducted the services and burial was made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were Fred Sass, Harris Andrews, Harold Davis, Henry Miller, Leonard Laaker and Carroll Thompson.
