Laura M. Lorsch, 84

Laura Lorsch, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 15, at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Laura Mary Lorsch was born May 7, 1920, in Blair to Henry and Anna (Klingenberg) Nohrenberg.

She attended the Cruickshank School, graduated from Blair High School in 1937, and attended Omaha University.

She taught school for seven years in Washington County.

On Dec. 25, 1943, she married Emil Lorsch at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair.

Mrs. Lorsch was a member of First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years; was a charter member of the White Spot Extension Club; was a Washington County 4-H leader; Cub and Boy Scouts leader; Eagle Scout mother; a volunteer for the Washington County Recycling Association; and a volunteer at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community. In 1994, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority named her “Lady of the Year.”

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine L. and Richard L. Hansen; son, Roger E. Lorsch; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, all of Blair; sister, Marie Briggs of Aurora, Colo.; and sister-in-law, Barbara Nohrenberg of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; brother, Peter Nohrenberg; brother-in-law, Wayne Briggs; sister and brother-in-law, Emma and Walter Woodard.

Memorials are suggested to the Emil and Laura Lorsch Scholarship at Dana College; Good Shepherd Lutheran Community; or the First United Methodist Church.
