SOUTH SIOUX MAN DIED IN WRECK NORTH OF BLAIR

WAS THE STATE’S FIRST FATALITY OF THE HOLIDAY WEEK-END

A South Sioux City businessman became the state’s first traffic fatality of the Thanksgiving week-end early Thursday when his car left the road five miles north of Blair and rolled into a ditch.

Donald S. Darrow, 40, was the victim. He was the proprietor of the Imperial Barber Shops at South Sioux.

Darrow, the father of two children, was alone in the car at the time of the mishap.

The Blair Rescue Squad was called to the scene of the accident shortly after 3:30 A.M. Thursday morning. The car had apparently drifted off the pavement near the Elton Jensen farm midway between Blair and Herman. It had rolled over a number of times after leaving the pavement. Darrow was killed instantly.

The car was traveling south towards Blair.
