Darlene M. Sheets, 84, of Fremont, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner. Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, June 12, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Darlene M. Goreham was born May 10, 1930, in Blair to Louis and Meta (Gasser) Goreham. She grew up in Blair and was a 1947 graduate of Blair High School.

She married Wilford Sheets on August 9, 1948, in Blair. The couple lived at Blair until moving to the Fremont area in 1961.

She was a member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress and was inducted into the Fremont Area Bowlers Hall of Fame in 2000. She enjoyed farm life, caring for 9,000 chickens and other farm animals and had a great love of cats.

She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, bird watching, sewing, baking and camping. It was a family tradition to have her family home on Sundays for dinner.

She is survived by her husband, Wilford, of Fremont; sons: Howard and wife Darlene Sheets and Leslie and wife Jody Sheets, all of Fremont; daughter Joyce and husband Robert Hines of North Bend; brother Leo Goreham of Fremont; three granddaughters: Jennifer Sheets and Danielle Schulz of Fremont and Carly Hines of North Bend; three great-grandchildren: Alex and Cody Sheets and Zach Schulz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Leonard Goreham; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Memorials may be given for Alzheimer's Research and the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner.
