Ida Mae Miller
Died on 9/5/1891
Buried in Kennard Cemetery

Pilot 10 Sept 1891

Died: Miss Ida Miller, aged 25 years, 3 months and 11 days. Miss Ida has been suffering with that dreaded disease consumption for about one year. She has kept her bed for about 7 months before her death. Rev. Stewart, of Waterloo, Neb., officiated, assisted by Rev. Young. There was the largest procession to the grave yard that was ever witnessed in this part of the country. Everybody that knew her, loved her. She had always lived an exemplary life and her last words were like the Apostle Paul: “I have fought the tight; I have kept the faith: henceforth there is a crown of righteousness laid up for me and not for me only but for all them that love his appearing.” She was rational until the last moment. She chose the songs that should be sung and who should sing, gave directions about her coffin and shroud and then said: “Father and mother, meet me in that better world”, and closed her eyes in death. The whole community feels her loss deeply.
