Albert H. Miller died this morning at 5:35 from the effects of heart trouble. He was taken sick Wednesday morning, and the end came quickly.

He was a native of this county, and died on the farm where he was born, July 24, 1880. He went to the district school and later to the State University at Lincoln where he graduated in the spring of 1908.

After his graduation he went into the Forest Service serving until about 1915, when he resigned and returned to the farm, where he took the active management and made farming his work.

He was elected to the Legislature and served in the 1917-1918 term and also in the 1919-1920 term. After this he was elected to the Senate where he served one term.

He has been honored by being president of the Washington Co. Extension Service since 1928, a tenure of twenty-five years. He was president of the State Board in 1933-1934, and president of the Washington County Fair in 1936, and was elected as secretary of the Northwest Fair Circuit for 1943. Besides these various offices he found time to act as president of the Washington County Pioneer and Old Settler Picnic for a number of years, being the present presiding officer.

He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and of the Tangier Temple of Omaha.

He was never married and he and one sister, Alma, remained on the farm, living an industrious and honored life where the neighbors of the vicinity looked on them as real friends.

He leaves to mourn his passing one brother, Henry, of Kennard; four sisters, Alma, at home; Mrs. L. E. Larsen, of Blair; Mrs. Alice Larsen, of Omaha, and another sister, Evelyn, of California. Besides these there are a number of nephews, nieces and grand nephews and nieces. His father, mother, and one sister, Mrs. Emma Jensen preceded him in death.

Words are not needed to express the fullness of his life. The honors that were bestowed upon him in both public and private life speak for themselves.

Funeral services will be held next Sunday at 1:30 from the home and 2:00 o’clock from the Methodist Church and interment will be made in the family lot at Orum.

Note: Death date was 9 Dec. 1943; Burial is in Lincoln Cemetery Row C #13 in the new addition at Orum.
