M. K. DAVIES DIES AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS

After suffering with ill health for months, Madison K. Davies died at the family home in Dexterville Monday morning and the funeral was held yesterday afternoon from the Baptist church, with Rev. Foreman in charge.

Mr. Davies spent most of his life in and near Blair and at different times was the owner of considerable farm land, his first piece being 160 acres out on the Papio west of Blair. He was a member of the Modern Woodman lodge and the Knights of Pythias, taking a great deal of interest in both organizations and a very active worker at all times.

He was a man of kindly impulses, and never forgot the hospitable ways of the pioneer. The stranger, even though a beggar, never failed to find food and shelter if he sought it at his hands, and he was at home by the bedside of the sick and delighted in all kinds of neighborly offices. He had borne adversity bravely and enjoyed prosperity quietly. He had filled the various relations of life, as husband, father, brother, friend, and filled them with ___________ (text missing)
