Clarence Ptacek, 95

Funeral services for Clarence Ptacek, 95, of Omaha, were held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery. Mr. Ptacek died Saturday, Dec. 29, at Skyline Villa in Omaha.

Clarence William Ptacek was born Nov. 26, 1906, in Farnsworth, S.C., to James and Elizabeth (Prodihl) Ptacek. He attended Huron High School.

Mr. Ptacek worked in South Dakota before entering the military in May, 1942. He served in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines from Feb. 1943 until October, 1945. He received an honorable discharge from active duty on Oct. 20, 1945.

He was a 50-year member of the American Legion, and the majority of his working years were spent with Watson Brothers Transportation Co. in Omaha.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Donnie Ptacek, of Washington, and his nieces and nephews.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
