Mother Of Mrs. Solomon Died In Hebron

The mother of Mrs. Gene Solomon, Mrs. Floyd Pumphrey, died at Hebron, Nebraska.

Mrs. Pumphrey was born at Sargent, Nebraska on September 27, 1887. She died at the age of 90 at Hebron, Nebraska. Services were held at the First Methodist Church in Hebron.

Services were held at Gering, Nebraska with Dr. Melvin Kolterman officiating. Burial was in the Gering Cemetery.

Mrs. Pumphrey has been a housewife and active in many other areas. She was one of the first women Superintendents of Schools in Nebraska. She was also a math teacher at Ohiowa, Nebraska in 1915. She was also one of the first women to coach a boys High School basketball team. Mrs. Pumphrey also helped plant some of the first trees in the Halsey Forest.

Mrs. Pumphrey is survived by three sons and one daughter, Mrs. Gene (Edith) Solomon of Blair.
