Dorthea Puls Dies at Age of 98 Years

Dorthea M. Puls, daughter of the late Henry T. and Anne Wiese was born May 15, 1880 at Kennard, Nebraska, and passed away at Hill Crest Care Center, Bellevue, Nebraska, March 18, 1979 at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 18 days.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington, Nebraska, transferring to Kountze Memorial Lutheran in Omaha in 1930.

She was a long-time member of the Royal Neighbor’s receiving her 50 year emblem in 1961.

On April 20, 1904, she was united in marriage to Carl F. Puls at Blair, Nebraska.

They farmed in Washington County for a number of years before moving to Omaha in 1930.

She was the oldest of twelve children. Her parents, four brothers and three sisters as well as one great grandson preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Rheinhard and Louis Puls of Omaha. Two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Margaret) Janecek of Gretna, Nebraska; Mrs. John (Anita) McKulsky of Omaha, nine grand-children, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Two sisters Mrs. Margaret Voss and Mrs. Rose Christiansen of Blair, two brothers Wm. and Carl Wiese of Omaha and a number of nieces and nephews.
