Delphina Purdie

Dephina Purdie, 56, of Arlington died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

She was born Oct. 26, 1953, in Fort Riley, Kans., to Arthur and Doraldine (Snyder) Florez. She grew up in Omaha and moved to Grand Island in 1966. She was a graduate of Grand Island High School. She lived in Tekamah and Blair before moving to Arlington in 2006. She was a licensed certified nursing assistant. She had worked at St. Francis Medical Center and Parkside Nursing Facility at Grand Island as a supply technician.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, taking care of the family and spending time with her granddaughter, Bailey.

Survivors include: four sons, Nathan Purdie (and fiancée, Raven Thurlow), Garret Fleming and Khristopher Purdie, all of Arlington, and Steven Purdie of Grand Island; three brothers and five sisters, Jerry (and wife, Rosie) Florez of Grand Island, Louis and Kathie Florez of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Brenda (and husband, Denis) Rist of Schuyler, Thomas (and wife, Chris) Florez of Grand Island, Cindy (and husband, Greg) Frost of Longmont, Colo., Mary (and husband, David) Waskowiak of Grand Island, Diane (and husband, Gary) Weidner of Clarksville, Tenn., and Rebecca (and husband, Brennan) Carr of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and granddaughter, Bailey Purdie.
