ERMA R. DAVIS

Erma R. Davis, age 54, of Tekamah, died on Tuesday, June 6, 1989, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha from injuries received in an accident on Monday evening, June 5th.

Erma was born on December 26, 1934 at Tekamah to Clarence and Edna (Plummer) Gill. She lived most of her life in the Craig and Tekamah area, graduating from the Craig High School in 1952. Erma then attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln for two years.

On October 10, 1954, Erma married Jerry D. Davis at Craig. To this union three children were born, Mark W. Davis, Michael D. Davis and Ann Marie Davis.

Erma had worked as Librarian at the Tekamah Public Library since 1982, prior to that time she and her husband owned and operated the Tekamah motel for eleven years.

She was a member of the Nebraska Library Association; the Tekamah Book Club; a member of Tekamah Chapter # 131, O. E. S.; and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Tekamah.

Survivors include her husband , Jerry D. Davis of Tekamah; two sons, Mark W. Davis of Omaha and Michael D. (and wife, Lauren) Davis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one daughter, Ann Marie Davis of Omaha; two grandchildren, Holly and Ben Davis; her mother, Edna Lund of Tekamah; one sister, Shirley (Mrs. Roger) Johnson of Craig; numerous aunts and uncles and a host of friends.

Erma was preceded in death by her father and her step-father, Mathus Lund, and one uncle, James Gill.

Funeral services were Friday, June 9 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah with Rev. Thomas E. Robson officiating. Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.
