Services for Lyle Davis, 69 of Herman who died September 25, 1994 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum with military graveside services conducted by the Herman American Legion at the Orum Cemetery.

Lyle V. Davis was born February 2, 1925 at Plainview, Nebraska to Frank and Marie West Davis. He grew up in the northeast part of Nebraska. He graduated from Craig High School.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He married Elvera Havekost at Scribner, Nebraska, March 24, 1951.

He farmed until 1970 at which time he worked for Kelly Ryan Manufacturing. He later worked for Fruehauf Trailers, retiring in 1990.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and of the Herman American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Creola “Sis” Singelton and two brothers, Francis Davis and Robert Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Elvera ; a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Jill Davis, Minneapolis, Minnesota; a son, Roger and his fiancé, Lynette Hagedorn of Arlington, Nebraska; and sons, Jerry Davis, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Tony Davis, Providence, Rhode island.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
