Mrs. Margaret Clement Davis died at 4:20 yesterday morning at the residence of Dr. W. H. Palmer from the effects of injuries received by falling down stairs some weeks ago. She had been partially conscious at times since the fall but for five days prior to her death was totally unconscious, though able to move her arms and limbs. Rev. F. W. Gardner conducted the funeral from the home at 1:30 p.m. today. Mrs. Davis was born in County Derry, Ireland, in 1813, and had she lived to March 12, would have been 88 years of age. She came to this country with her husband in ’51 and settled in Greenville, Ill., afterwards moving to Colfax county, this state. Some twenty years ago her husband died and she came to live with her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Palmer. Her only other child, Mrs. Wm. Morley, lives on a farm near Arlington. In religious faith she was a Covenanter Presbyterian, adhering devoutly to that church throughout her long life.
