MAY J. DAVIS, 97
Services for May J. Davis, age 97 of Blair who died February 8, 1994 at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair will be Friday, February 11 at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
May J. Davis was born December 30, 1896 in Guthrie County, Iowa to Peter C. and Mary Siemsem Nelson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith, attended Audubon, Iowa Schools and taught country schools two years.
May was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Hospital Auxiliary, Monday Afternoon Club, Order of the Eastern Star McKinley Chapter No. 161, and American Legion Auxiliary.
On September 17, 1918, she married Myron O. Davis. In 1933, they moved to Blair where she resided the rest of her life.
Her husband, Myron, preceded her in death September 1, 1948. A son, Don, died in July, 1979.
Surviving her are a daughter and son-in-law, June and Jack Kuhr of Blair; daughter-in-law, Clarissa Davis of Los Ala Medis, California; granddaughters, Donna Terrazas, Jean Davis and Taryl Wolgan; grandson, Brian Davis; nine great-grandchildren, and a brother-in-law, Ray Davis.
