FORMER BLAIR WOMAN PASSES

Mrs. F. W. Beekman, of Pisgah, Iowa passed away Sunday, December 30th, at her home in the city, the victim of an attack of pneumonia after an illness of but one week’s duration. About a year ago Mrs. Beekman underwent a serious surgical operation, and for a time her life was despaired of, but she recovered only to fall a victim of pneumonia.

Margaret Dunkle, with her parents, resided in Washington county for a number of years, attending the Blair schools where she was a general favorite of all who knew her. She was married to F. W. Beekman, a brother of our towns people, Charles Beekman and Mrs. Ella Price, February 19, 1896.

About thirty years ago they left Blair and moved to Pisgah, Iowa, where the husband went into business. Here they reared their family and built an acquaintance and friendship that made their home the center of attraction for their circle, and her passing will leave a gap in her home town social world that can never be filled.

Besides the husband, she leaves six children: Mrs. Lowell McDonald, Pisgah; Mrs. Everett McDonald, Dow City, Iowa; Mrs George Grover, Ames, Iowa; Celia, Frederick and Junior all of Pisgah.

Funeral services were held at Pisgah and the body brought to Blair where at 2 p.m. funeral services were held at the Campbell mortuary, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

A week ago the father was buried at Loveland, Iowa, and this grief, no doubt, had no little effect on her in her last illness.
