Charles Harley Shumake, 84

Funeral services for Charles Shumake, age 84, of Blair will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 29 at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, with Rev. Owen Wilmot officiating. Charles died at the Memorial Community Hospital, Blair, June 26, 1989.

Charles Harley Shumake was born on September 16, 1904 at Stonington, Illinois to William and Susan McKinney Shumake. He married Bertha Ashenhurst in Illinois. She preceded him in death on April 8, 1987.

Charles came to Herman, Nebraska, area in 1929 and farmed until moving to Blair, where he operated an automotive service until opening a TV and Radio business.

Charles is survived by his daughter-in-law, Grace Shumake of Blair; two grandsons, Warren and John Shumake, Blair, and three great-grandsons, Clark Shumake, Mark Shumake, and Daniel Shumake, all of Blair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sons, Malvern and Charles, Jr.
