Mrs. Susie Ann Shumake Buried

Services were held Monday at Herman for Mrs. Susie Ann Shumake, long-time resident of the Herman vicinity, who had died Friday, January 112th at the Oakland, Nebraska Nursing Home. Mrs. Shumake was 89 years old.

She was born in Pennsylvania, October 5th, 1872, and had moved to the east Nebraska area with her family when but a small child. Her husband, William A. Shumake, had preceded her in death in 1941.

Mrs. Shumake is survived by a son, Charles Shumake, Sr., of Blair, and a grandson, Charles Shumake, Jr, also of Blair. All of the members of her immediate family had preceded her in death. Two great-grandchildren survive.

Services were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in Herman with the Rev. Clare Olney, of the Blair Congregational Church conducting the service.

Interment, under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home, was made in the Herman cemetery.
