Miss Pearl Davis, oldest daughter of Mrs. Mattie Davis, for many years residents of Blair, died of pneumonia, at Los Angeles, Calif., last week and the body was brought back to her home in Omaha and the funeral was held at the First Baptist Church in that city, this Thursday afternoon, and interment was made in the Blair Cemetery. Miss Davis was born in Kansas and came to this city with her parents when a small child. She was educated in the Blair schools. For a number of years, she was cashier for Orchard & Wilhelm of Omaha. Deceased was a niece of J. W. Newell, Sr., and Mrs. Lydia Selden; a cousin of Mrs. L. A. Williams, Mrs. John McKay, and John Newell.

Miss Pearl Davis, aged 31 years, daughter of Mrs. Mattie Davis, died at Los Angeles, Calif., last Thursday following a short illness with pneumonia. Deceased and her mother were residents of Blair a number of years ago, removing to Omaha, where they have since resided, going to California about three weeks ago to spend the winter, where deceased was taken ill soon after their arrival there. Mrs. Davis is a sister to J. W. Newell and Mrs. Perry Selden. The body was brought to Omaha, where funeral service was held yesterday, and from there to this city for burial.

Word was received by relatives here of the death of Miss Pearl Davis at Los Angeles, Calif., of pneumonia, last Thursday. The body is to be brought to Omaha for the funeral service, which will be held at the 1st Baptist Church tomorrow, Thursday, after which the body will be brought here by auto hearse for burial. She/ is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mattie Davis, a sister of Mrs. Perry Selden and J. W. Newell, Sr., of this city, Lora, of Omaha, Mrs. Ernest Johnson, of Great Falls, Mont., Harry of Dillon, Mont., and Ray, of Des Moines. With her mother and sister, Lora, she went to Los Angeles the 24th of October because of a weak heart, expecting to spend the winter there. Within a week she developed pneumonia. She was about 35 years of age and had been employed at Orchard & Wilhelm’s for a good many years.
