Geo Miller, U.S. Marine

Berthuel Miller, born here in Ft. Calhoun, but mostly of Douglas county, for years, and H. D. Hansen of Valentine, a son-in-law, were here on February 27 on a sad mission. Berthul’s son, George, who was born with his four brothers and sisters on a farm near the Riverview school, where his father was at that time a director, and had suffered from four years in the navy and died in Wyoming was brought to Ft. Calhoun Nebraska cemetery at the age of 28 to be buried near his grandparents Miller, and other early territorial pioneers, the Runyans, Gilberts, and a large number of other relatives, in fact the three families have the largest number of graves of any other families in this vicinity. His body was brought to his last Douglas county home where the principal services were held and an after service held at the grave. His cousin, David Miller and part of the family still reside here. W. H. Woods
