#1-18 Mar., 1908 - The Pilot

Peter J. Christiansen’s father, who lived with him on the farm about two miles south of Orum died of bronchitis and heart trouble last Wednesday at the advanced age of 70 years, 10 mos. and 29 days. The funeral was held at the house on Friday, and interment made in the Kennard cemetery.

On Friday, the 13th inst. Erik Christensen, a highly respected citizen of the vicinity of Orum was laid to rest in the Kennard cemetery. Rev. Henricksen officiated at the funeral services at the residence and also conducted a short service at the grave.

The deceased was born in Ginskend Jyland, Denmark, April 13, 1837 and died March 11, 1908, at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 27 days. He emigrated to this country in 1889.

His family consisted of the wife, two step-sons, C.B. Hansen and Nels Christensen Hansen, a son Peter J. Christensen and an adopted son, Anton Andersen. All survive him excepting Nels Christian Hansen, who died in Denmark. A large number of friends attended the services to pay their last respects to the deceased and tender their sympathies to the relatives. - - - Kennard Enterprise.
