Mrs. Christina Miller Dies At Age Of 80 Years

Mrs. Christina Miller was born in Gylling, Denmark, on May 31, 1864 to Mr. and Mrs. Morris Anderson, and died at the home in Kennard on Wednesday evening January 17, 1945, at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 17 days.

When she was seventeen years of age, she left her family and home in Denmark and came to the United States to make her home. She settled in Blair where so many of her own country people lived. In September, 1884, she was married to Nels Miller and to this union were born two sons, Elmer and Leonard, both of whom preceded their mother in death, Leonard passing away thirty five years ago and Elmer three years ago. The husband died forty-seven years ago.

After her marriage, Mrs. Miller lived in Kennard nearly all her life. She was a devoted member of the Methodist church, always having its interest at heart. She was elected the first president of the Ladies Aid when it was organized. A sincere Christian, a wonderful mother, and a God-fearing woman, Mrs. Miller will be missed by many people in this community.

Deceased leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Mrs. Morris Anderson, one brother, Jens Peter Christensen of Blair; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elsie Miller of Kennard; two grandchildren, Leonard Miller of Omaha and Marvin Miller of Beatrice; and one granddaughter, Mrs. LeRoy McCann of Calhoun.

Funeral services were held last Saturday at the Kennard Methodist church with Rev. A. W. Clarke officiating and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
