Pioneer Kennard Resident Dies

Mrs. Laura Miller, aged seventy years, one of the early residents of Kennard, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Flornee Powell at Omaha on the evening of January 8th. Mrs. Miller came to Kennard with her husband, the late Frank Miller about forty-five years ago and has made her home in Kennard since that date.

She was well and favorable known in Kennard and will be missed by a host of friends in Kennard and vicinity.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Powell and Mrs. Orphelia Coeking, both of Omaha.

The funeral services were held Sunday at 2 P.M. at the M.E. church with Rev. W. C. George officiating and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.

Note: Kennard Cemetery records have death date as Jan. 9; don’t know which is correct. We have not located Laura’s grave site yet.
