Rites Sun. for Mrs. H. Blaco

Widow Of County Officer Had Been In Ill Health For Several Months

Neighbors of Mrs. Harry Blaco, Kennard, became alarmed when she failed to appear Friday. Upon forcing the door they found the 68-year-old woman, widow of a Kennard implement dealer and county commissioner, dead in bed. She apparently passed away in her sleep Thursday night.

Funeral rites for Mrs. Blaco were held Sunday at the Kennard Methodist church, with the Rev. A. W. Clarke of Arlington officiating.

Mrs. Blaco had been in poor health since the death of her husband 16 months ago. She had been released, only recently, from Dodge County hospital where she had undergone treatment.

Born at Rawlings, Wyo., on June 16, 1876, Mrs. Blaco (nee Merie F. Johnson) came with her parents to Waterloo, in 1877. She attended the Waterloo schools and the Fremont Normal. On April 26 1900, she was married to Harry Blaco at Waterloo but the couple made their home in Kennard nearly all of their married life.

The Blacos had no children. Mrs. Blaco is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Dagmer McWhorter of Fremont, Mrs. Anna Todd of Waterloo and Mrs. W. C. Waldron of Arlington.

Mrs. H. C. Blaco, wife of the late H. C. Blaco, former County Commissioner, was found dead in her home at Kennard last Thursday. How long she had been dead is not definitely known, but it was thought but a few yours.

Since the death of her husband some fifteen months ago, Mrs. Blaco had lived alone in her Kennard home. She grieved deeply her loss and no doubt this had a great deal to do with her death.
