EMMA M. DEAN, 92

Emma M. Dean, 92, of Arlington, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. The Rev. John W. Emslie Jr. will officiate.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in the Prairie View Cemetery near Washington.

Emma M. Dean was born Dec. 13, 1906 to Ferdinand and Bertha (Marquardt) Leu in rural Norfolk.

She grew up on a farm near Norfolk. In 1936, she moved to a farm near Blair and six years later settled on a farm near Arlington, where she remained until November 1998, when she moved to A. J. Manor in Fremont.

On April 6, 1974, she married George Dean in Blair. He died May 2, 1998.

For many years she worked as an Avon representative until her retirement in 1978.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in –law, Marlene and Ernie Armendariz of Tulsa, Okla., and Sharon Schwartzer of Watertown, Wisc.; step-son, Gary and his wife, Barb Dean of Fremont; step-daughter, Marsha and her husband, Bill Schwartzer of Shelby; daughter-in-law, Joan Schlueter of Arlington; and nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Harold Schlueter, Wallace Widener and George Dean; son Jerrold Schlueter; three brothers, Martin, Fritz and Carl Leu; and two sisters, Hulda McCutchen and Augusta Rakowski.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair or Bethesda Home in Watertown, Wisc.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
