Mrs. Johanna Marie Miller, Washington county old settler, passed away at the Immanuel hospital in Omaha on Tuesday, March 19, at the age of 83 years.

Born in Scherbeck, Jutland, Denmark, on September 18, 1857, she was united in marriage to Hans T. Miller in 1880. Seven children were born to their union, two sons dying in infancy. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Anna Blackburn of Arlington and Mrs. Marie Coutts of Omaha; three sons, George N. and John E. of Blair and Lou P. Miller of Hebo, Oregon; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Bendorf Funeral Home and the First Lutheran church last Friday afternoon, with Rev. H. C. Jorgensen officiating, assisted by Rev. H. Nielsen and Rev. L. H. Kjoller of Blair. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Miller were wed in the mother country in 1880 and in 1880 immigrated to American with Blair as their destination. The husband passed on it 1929 and since that time she has made her home with her son, George, in this city.

Deceased was a devoted Christian and her faith never swerved during all the years of her widowhood. Her memory will be as a sacred hymn to her children and those living in close contact to her.

The floral offerings and the large number present at the last sad rites were mute token of the deep respect in which she was held by those who knew her.
