John Edwards Miller, son of Samuel George and Margaret Leanna Means Miller, was born September 21, 1901 in North Vernon County, Rich Hill, Missouri and died September 12, 1985, at the age of 83 years.

John was married to Ethel Reed daughter of Winfield and Pear Welch Reed, August 30, 1923, at Nevada, Missouri. They lived in North Vernon County for five years then moved to Council Bluff, Iowa where he was employed as superintendent of Korshoj Construction Company for many years.

They lived in Blair several years ago, where Miller worked for Korshoj Construction. Later he moved to El Dorado Springs, Missouri where he built a new home and farmed for 23 years. Later moving to Granby, Missouri at retirement age.

He leaves his wife, of 62 years, Ethel to mourn his departure, three sons, Oliver Miller of Linn, Missouri, Gene Miller, Fort Worth, Texas and John J. Miller of Fairfax, Virginia. Also three daughters, (Juanita) Mrs. Bill Jones, Papillion, Nebraska; (Bonnie) Mrs. Wayne Hendericks, Neosho, Missouri and (Marilyn) Mrs. Curt Rudd, Baudette, Minnesota. One daughter died in infancy.

He also leaves 28 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
