Marion Miller

Services for Marion A. Miller, Sr., 69, who died June 19, 1986 at Blair Memorial Community Hospital, were held recently.

He was born to William H. and Rose C. (Lewis) Miller on a farm east of Blair November 2, 1916.

Miller grew to manhood in Blair where he attended school and graduated from Blair High School in 1935.

He was married to Lucille P. Harding in 1946 to which two children were born, Judy of Omaha and Marion A. Jr. of U.S. Navy.

He worked on the river as a motorboat operator and on the farm with his father where he also operated a saw mill and a riverside tavern with his father and brother.

He joined the Army on April 28, 1942, in the tank destroyer where he was serving when he was injured and discharged on February 11, 1944. He was a charter member of Fort Calhoun Post 348 where he was Commander three times and Adjutant for several years.

He worked on construction for Korshoj and Kewit until a back injury forced him to retire.

Pallbearers were Bill Bolton, Larry Bolton, Bob Macholan, Chic Madsen, Gale Maine and Bob Wiese.
